UAE Boosting Innovation and IP System

The United Arab Emirates has made another significant stride in supporting intellectual property and innovation, following the recent announcement of the new IP Ecosystem as an integrated system aimed at developing an attractive environment for innovation and entrepreneurship in the knowledge economy.

This system will serve as a pivotal point in the UAE’s vision to enhance the role of intellectual property for entrepreneurs and innovators, and to create a competitive environment aligned with global best practices. It encompasses 11 initiatives across various intellectual property domains. Among these initiatives are innovation incubators, the Emirati examiner, a virtual initiative to promote and raise awareness about intellectual property, as well as the school training initiative, along with many other supportive and contributory initiatives.

One of the key pillars of this system is to enhance comprehensive protection of intellectual property and to reduce violations faced by innovators and inventors, leveraging artificial intelligence tools and applications.

The system also aims to enhance the UAE’s position in the innovation index among the top 15 countries globally and to empower Emirati talents in the field of intellectual property to benefit from their expertise.
