Morocco Secures Top Position in the International Intellectual Property Index for Africa and the Arab World

According to the latest report released by the American Chamber of Commerce on February 22, 2024, Morocco has secured the first position in both Africa and the Arab region in International Intellectual Property Index. Out of the 55 countries evaluated, Morocco maintains its rank of 22nd globally, with an overall score of 62.76 points.

This remarkable achievement is a testament to the significant progress made by Morocco in implementing new regulatory and legislative measures. Specifically, the country’s participation in key international treaties such as the Singapore Treaty on Trademarks and the Geneva Act on Fees and Industrial Designs has had a positive impact on its ranking. In addition, Morocco has launched various initiatives to foster innovation, including the establishment of the Innovative Projects Bank, the Patent Valorization Platform, and the introduction of Fast-Track Patent Examination (PPH) in collaboration with multiple industrial property offices.
