For the first time, the UAE trademark office publishes the acceptances of trademarks filed under Madrid Protocol in the Official gazette 264 of 08.02.2023. UAE joined Madrid protocol in December 2021. Since then, applicants were able to designate UAE. By releasing the OG 264, the international applications designating UAE are published for oppositions by third parties. To oppose the trademarks in UAE, a local agent shall be appointed. The deadline to file the opposition is 30 days from the publication’s date.
